Dr. Wes’ Favorite Quick + Healthy Breakfast Recipe

Looking for a nutrient dense way to start your day that takes little effort to prep? These Power Oats are so delicious and easy to make ahead! We sometimes even make a few jars of the the dry ingredients at the beginning of the week for those busy weekday mornings.


2/3 cup Trader Joe’s Rolled Oats (Gluten Free)

1-2 tbsp Trader Joe’s Flax Seed Meal

1 tbsp Kirkland Organic Peanut Butter

1 scoop Primal Kitchen Collagen Fuel (vanilla or chocolate, whichever floats your boat)

1 tsp Cacao Powder

Boiling Water

Extra Nourishment Tip:

This is the perfect opportunity to add in your liquid supplements, like vitamin D. As Dr. Lauren likes to remind everyone, vitamin D is best absorbed and used by the body when it is taken with at least 5g of fat, so add it to your Power Oats!

Optional ingredients:

Handful of cashews, almonds, mixed nuts

Dash of cinnamon

1/4 cup of fresh fruit on top


  1. Boil water

  2. While water is boiling, mix all the dry ingredients into a bowl.

  3. Once water comes to a boil, cautiously pour over the top of all the dry ingredients to completely cover them.

  4. Stir well, add in your optional toppings and enjoy!

It doesn’t get much easier than this! Enjoy.
