WHY DID YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF WELL-NOURISHED WORKSHOPS?

I believe in the mind-body-spirit integrated connection, and know that chiropractic care is an important component of this triad when considering health care options for overall mental and physical health. It integrates each aspect of the mind-body-spirit connection, linking together overall health and well-being. When there are psychological symptoms related to depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, and other phenomena, those mental experiences occur in the brain (neurological messages via neurotransmitters) and are also stored and symptomatic in the body. Neurological messages being sent and received in the brain simultaneously result in psychological and physiological experiences: psychological changes causing biological/physiological symptoms and vice versa.

For example, symptoms of anxiety include: fatigue, agitation, physiological and psychological arousal (“fight, flight, or freeze mode”, also called hypervigilance), mental and physical/ muscle tension, feeling on edge/irritability, racing thoughts, gastrointestinal/ digestion issues, etc. Clearly, we know these symptoms of anxiety to be psychological. But, as you can see, a majority of these symptoms have a physical component as well.

Chiropractic care focuses on balancing the nervous system and helps reduce the neurological tension associated with mental health concerns, such as anxiety. Therefore, it is a critical part of overall health care. Not only are these overall improvements documented in scientific research, but they are often reported immediately after chiropractic adjustments.

DO YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH CHIROPRACTIC?

Yes! As a mental health professional that experiences muscle and body tension that comes with anxiety, I have felt and experienced the benefits of consistent chiropractic care, and I have also witnessed my 3 year old benefit from adjustments as well. For me, adjustments have helped bring physical relaxation and reduced muscle/back tension to my body and, as a result, the adjustments have contributed to increased mental clarity.
