If you have ever felt a sudden, sharp, zinging pain through your pelvis during pregnancy, you are not imagining it. Lightening crotch is real, and the clinical term is pudendal nerve irritation.

It often shows up as quick jolts of pain in the pelvis, vagina, or groin, especially when walking, standing up, rolling in bed, or late in pregnancy.
